7th European Muaythai Championships and 12th European Cup started with the fantastic opening ceremony in beautiful city of Antalya.

 President of the City Mustafa Akaydın, General Secretary of the European Muaythai Federation Rafal Shlachta, President of the Turkish Muaythai Federation Halil Durna and many others officials attended the opening ceremony which was held in Dilek Sabancı Sport Hall.

“The interest in muaythai is increasing in Turkey year after year.” said President of Turkish Muaythai Federation Halil Durna.

“Oil wrestling and muaythai are two kinds of sports which are done along with music and these sports combine art and sport. They teach being ‘moral’ beside sport. Turkey is doing its best to be one of the outstanding teams in the world and to be successful.” said President of TMF.

 

After the speeches General Secretary of EMF and President of Turkish Muaythai Federation Halil Durna were invited to the platform to start the tournament. Rafal Schlachta signified that sport of muaythai is on his best way to be recognised by International Olympic Committee (IOC). And they gave the start.

Fireworks show, confetti rain, modern and traditional dance shows graced the opening ceremony. 5-year-old kindergarten students presented a dance show admired by everyone in the sport hall.

The tournament will carry on until 22 April.
